𝗢𝘁𝘂 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗿 𝗳𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲𝘀, 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗳 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘃𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗺𝘀

Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Otu, has visited communities affected by recent flooding in Calabar, assuring victims that the state government will provide immediate relief and long-term support to help them recover from the disaster.

During the inspection tour, Governor Otu sympathized with families whose homes and livelihoods were impacted by the flooding, describing the situation as deeply unfortunate. He reaffirmed his administration's commitment to ensuring that no affected resident is left behind.

The governor directed relevant government agencies to immediately assess the extent of the damage and commence the distribution of relief materials to displaced families. He also emphasized the need for proactive measures, including improved drainage infrastructure and environmental sanitation, to reduce the risk of future flooding.
Governor Otu urged residents to cooperate with emergency response officials and adhere to safety advisories, particularly as the rainy season continues across the state.

Residents who received the governor expressed appreciation for the visit, describing it as a demonstration of compassion and responsive leadership. 

They also appealed for swift implementation of the promised interventions to enable affected families rebuild their lives.
The Cross River State Government reiterated its commitment to protecting lives and property while strengthening disaster preparedness across vulnerable communities.
